for 40 years people said that Ray Davis' experiments were unnecessary and ridiculous. But Davis never quit. He kept his experiments going and collected more and more data, just to show the world how determined he was. That is the kind of person you would have to be in order to keep going even though everybody was calling you a crackpot or a lunatic. But it goes to show you that if you believe in something, no matter what anyone else says, you need to keep following it and sooner or later ( in Davis' case later) it will be come to fruition. And people need to be little crazy in order to make advancements in the world of scientific research
